Gräfelfing/Munich, 24 July 2007. In the first half of 2007, which was
marked by a distinct increase in volatility on the stock markets, mwb
Wertpapierhandelsbank AG attained results only slightly lower than the same
period in 2006. Whereas earnings from ordinary activities fell by 7% from
EUR 2,257 thousand in the first half of 2006 to EUR 2,106 thousand in the
first half of 2007, net income in the first half-year declined from EUR
2,011 thousand to EUR 1,946 thousand. This is equivalent to a downturn of a
mere 3%. This figure includes, amongst other things, income from financial
assets totalling EUR 479 thousand.

Commission income rose by 7% in the first half of 2007 to EUR 2,207
thousand as compared to the same period in the past year (EUR 2,070
thousand), whereas trading profits fell by 22% to EUR 3,750 thousand
(previous year: EUR 4,827 thousand). A keen cost consciousness made it
possible to reduce general administrative expenses by 4% in total from EUR
4,874 thousand in the first half of 2006 to EUR 4,693 thousand. Personnel
expenses in particular declined by 14% from EUR 1,818 thousand to EUR 1,565
thousand in the first half-year 2007. This figure already includes
provisions for performance-related remuneration and bonuses in the amount
of EUR 453 thousand. Other administrative expenses rose slightly from EUR
3,056 thousand to EUR 3,127 thousand (plus 2%). The number of employees
increased from 34 to 35 as compared to the same period last year.

The company's equity situation remains at a comfortable level. As of 30
June 2007, equity totalled EUR 20,631 thousand compared to EUR 18,753
thousand on 31 December 2006. Liquidity fell slightly as of 30 June 2007 to
EUR 11,415 thousand compared to EUR 11,806 thousand at the close of 2006.
